About usThe experience with water, heating and sanitary goes way back in the Leitisstein family. Zacharias Leitisstein´s father, Aksel Leitisstein (born 17th of June 1900) was a blacksmith an started his training at Nyholm Debes in Torshavn in 1919. Brothers Rúni- and Atle Leitisstein are managing the company today together with their father and therefore the tradition is kept alive in third generation. Zacharias Leitisstein started his company in Runavík in 1959. His first workshop was in a rented premises.
In 1960 a family home was built on Heiðavegur 10 and Zacharias Leitisstein organized a workshop in the basement. Facilities became even better in 1972 when a new workshop building was constructed close by. In 1981 the activities were reconstructed and a shareholder company was formed. The equity capital was 500.000 DKR. As activities grew the facilities on Heiðavegur 10 became insufficient and it was decided to build a new building. This new building is on Mylnuvegur 1 and it holds workshop and shop. In 2005 a new building was completed in Rituvíkar Hálsi. This modern building is about 1000 square meters, and is currently being used as a work shop. |
